Chiropractie tijdens de zwangerschap: ondersteuning voor je rug, bekken en bewegelijkheid Een zwangerschap is een…

Behind the practice: the person, the passion, and the journey that brought me here.
Get to Know Me: More Than Just a Chiropractor
If you had asked me years ago what I wanted to be, my answer might have sounded very different. Like many people, I once imagined a future in medicine. But life has a way of guiding us exactly where we’re meant to be, and for me, that path led to chiropractic.
A Calling to Care
At my core, I’ve always been deeply empathetic. I naturally connect with people and feel driven to help them feel better, not just physically, but as a whole person.
So, it’s perhaps no surprise that I was drawn to a profession centred around care, healing, and human connection.
What I love most about chiropractic is its natural, holistic approach to health. It’s not simply about addressing symptoms; it’s about supporting the body and helping people move, function, and feel their best.
And the results can be truly life-changing.
Being part of that journey with my patients is what makes my work so incredibly fulfilling.
The Moment Everything Changed
Although I initially planned to study medicine, one experience completely changed my perspective and it’s a moment I’ll never forget.
One day, I accompanied my late mother to her chiropractic appointment. At the time, I didn’t really know what to expect from chiropractic.
While sitting in the waiting room, I noticed a woman in visible pain. She was struggling to move and relied on a walking aid just to make it into the treatment room.
A few minutes later, she walked back out.
But this time, she was smiling. She was standing upright. And her walking aid? She no longer needed it.
I was stunned. I couldn’t quite believe what I had just witnessed.
In that moment, something clicked.
I realised that chiropractic was about more than treatment, it was about transformation. It was about helping people experience change in their everyday lives and giving them hope that things could feel different.
And I knew, right then, that my path had changed.
Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful that my mother was the reason I walked through that door that day. In a way, that moment became the beginning of a journey that has shaped so much of my life.
Life Beyond the Practice
Outside of my work, I’m a wife and a proud mum to two beautiful children. My family is my grounding force and my greatest joy, and I treasure the time we spend together.
I love travelling and discovering new places, especially when it gives me the opportunity to experience different cultures. There’s something incredibly special about stepping outside your familiar surroundings, experiencing life through a different perspective, and learning from the people, traditions, and stories around you.
And, of course, I love good food! Trying new dishes, discovering local flavours, and sharing great meals with family and friends are some of my favourite things—especially when travelling.
When I’m at home, you’ll often find me baking. I am going to be honest, I am no pro, but there’s something so therapeutic about it, the creativity, the process, and, of course, being able to share something delicious with the people I love.
My Journey So Far
I was born and raised in sunny South Africa, where my journey into chiropractic began. I studied in Durban before going on to build and run two successful practices in Pretoria and Johannesburg.
Later, my family and I made the exciting decision to move to the Netherlands, where we’ve begun a new chapter together.
Alongside my work as a chiropractor, I’m also a qualified life, stress, and burnout coach. This allows me to support my patients on a deeper level, because true wellbeing isn’t just physical, it’s emotional and mental too.
For me, being a chiropractor has never been simply about a profession.
It’s about people. It’s about listening, connecting, supporting, and helping each person move towards a healthier, more balanced life.
I have shared countless journeys with my patients, witnessing their challenges, progress, setbacks, and successes along the way.
I am incredibly grateful that life led me here, right where I feel I need to be. What began as a simple trip to an appointment with my mom became a turning point that changed the direction of my life.
